Dear OpenFOAMers,
I'm trying to simulate roll motion of a box. It is completely surrounded by water and my aim is to apply a pure sinusoidal roll motion on it (where I define frequency or time period, and amplitude). I used the dynamicMeshDict with solidBodyMotionFunction SDA (more information: http://www.tfd.chalmers.se/~hani/kur...reeSurface.pdf). Now my problem is, that the resulting moment has a shorter period (/lower frequency) than the applied one, which is not logical. I tried to understand the code behind the SDA, but I am not sure what to do if I want a constant roll motion. In the attachment you will find a diagram where you can see the amplitude growing, while the time period decreases. After more than 15s I usually get a sawtooth-signal... Thanks in advance! |
