Hello to everyone!
I am new with OpenFOAM and, to learn, I am trying to model a Sphere inside a water stream with different Reynold numbers to get the drag-Re curve. At the moment I am simulating the Re 50, 500, 5000, 50000 and 250000. As well, I am running the simulation with different models, to learn about the different turbulent-models and comparing the results both with Fluent results and with a diagram. The lowest Re (50 and 500) are quite OK, but not the others. I think that the solver has been running long enough, but the result of the drag is just getting closer and closer to zero, which, of course, makes no sense... I have attached one of the cases that is not working properly, or, well, that I was not able to set up properly, let's say. It is here. It is a DES-Spalart Allmaras case. Inside the package, there is the case and some extra files that I use just to visualize some diagrams and so on; I think that they might be interesting for somebody. All the Force and Coeff. data is in the excel file. Maybe someone have a little bit of time to check it and tell me what I can do... It is quite important for me to learn how to use OpenFOAM, so THANK YOU VERY MUCH! |
