Hello foamers,
I'm trying to validate Stokes second problem, which is a turbulent channel flow with the bottom and top walls in spanwise oscillation. To do this, I have changed the oscillatingFixedValue already implemented in the software. I have changed from Vwall=1+Asinwt to Vwall=Asinwt in the 0/U directory for the bottom and top walls. My results are not so good and I am currently wondering whether I should change the 0/k file ? As the turbulent kinetic energy k is only linked to the fluctuations, k=1/2*(u'2 +v'2+w'2), do the wall movements keep k=0 on the walls? Or does it introduce a sinusoidal value of k? Thanks for your help ! Last edited by arnaud6; August 5, 2013 at 15:16. |

I precise that I am using LES with OneEqEddy (like in the channel395 tutorial case) and working at a Retau=200.
