Hello there.
I am modeling a liquid-solid (water + solids) system, following the data from Cornelissen, J. T., Taghipour, F., Escudié, R., Ellis, N., & Grace, J. R. (2007). CFD modelling of a liquid–solid fluidized bed. Chemical Engineering Science, 62(22), 6334–6348. My goal is to validate solver twoPhaseEulerFoam for this system and later on employ it for different conditions. First, I am trying to disregard completely any particle-particle interaction, so both kineticTheory is off and G0 (ppProperties) is set to 0. I have started working on this using the bed tutorial as a base, but my results are not very encouraging so far. Basically, the solid phase is always blown away from the domain - just as seen in the pictures (time in seconds). Does anyone have experience in modeling liquid-solid with this solver? Any advice? I have made a simple test - using exactly the same modeling, but with lower fluid density, the solid fraction is not blown away. Regards! |
