Hello,
I'm using OF-1.7 with Dominik Christ's solver for EDC model with detailed kinetics. I'm simulating a jet in hot coflow and I have 3 inlets in my domain : fuel (CH4/H2), coflow (products of CH4/H2 previous combustion) and air (O2,N2). The inlet of fuel is along the axis of the burner, the coflow is up of fuel and air is up of coflow. My problem is that the solver works for small kinetic mechanisms (1 step, 2 steps or 4 steps) but doesn't with detailed ones (KEE, GRI-3.0). What I do is stating the complex mechanisms simulation with the 1 step solution but the flame blows out and moreover I have a new combustion zone appearing in the air region although there is no fuel there. Can anyone help? Screenshot-1.jpg Last edited by rafi525; April 30, 2013 at 06:14. |

Hi vivek,
this solver only works on OF-1.7 (for the moment) unless you are able to adapt it for 2.x. if the tutorial works for you with detailed chemistry (GRI-3.0) let me know it please. Regards |

Thank you rafi! I will try to use older versions.
Will OpenFoam version 2.2.0 s reactingFOAM suit your application? |

Hey, is anyone interested in adapting edcSimpleFoam for 2.2?
I'll give it a try, but I'm far from being experienced and wondered if someone would give it a shot too, maybe in close collaboration... |
