hi all
in my case velocity is directed through positive or negative x-axis .then I want to draw the velocity with its sign.how can i have a figure of velocity over time at a certain point with its true direction not only its magnitude.is it possible with paraView or the data should extract and plot separately?
thanks a lot.

Have a look at the icon-bar in PV: just to the left of the drop-down with which you selected "U" there is a dropdown that says "Magnitude". The other options in this dropdown are "X", "Y" and "Z" ... guess what that means

it works when showing x-velocity distribution.but when I want to draw the time trace at a given poit it draws U(Magnitude)only not x-velocity magnitude.

Don't use that time-trace. Usually (for line-plots) there are 4 Options: magnitude and the components. Manitude is selected. The other 3 are not.
