Since my compressible solution always blows up (internal flow, subsonic, rhoSimplecFoam), and I am able to get some results running an incompressible solver (simpleFoam) , is there a way to start your solution for the compressible solver based on the pressure and velocity obtained after a certain number of iterations with the incompressible solver?

If the mesh and boundary conditions are exactly the same, you can simply copy the U and p from he simpleFoam simulation to the 0-folder of the compressible case.
If the mesh is not the same, you can have a look at mapFields (http://www.openfoam.org/docs/user/mapFields.php ). Regards, L |

hi Lieven
Thanks for the response. For the incompressible solver, the pressure is normalized by rho. For the incompressible solver, you set the pressure in its real units. Any way to get around this when reusing that field? |
