Compact List format

Hello,

Is there any documentation for how a compacted list is defined? I need to read a compacted face list (and others) outside of OpenFOAM but don't really know what's in there.

If somebody knows what the contents of compacted lists are and how they compare to non-compacted lists I would appreciate it if you could share this information.

Hi,

I know its an old thread but I am also looking for a definition of compact face list format. Can somebody explain what is exactly wriiten in the faces list with the new structure. If I use foamFormatConvert, the converted file is again in the old faceList format so I cannot understand the underlying data.
