Hi, I am working on Heat pipe numerical simulation and, wish to simulate heat pipe for multi phase flow physics including boiling and condensation. I found one solver interCondensatingEvaporatingFoam, but it is not nucleating boiling or condensation, it only gives phase change.

On the other hand I have modified interFoam of OF-9 version as per Paper 'The evaluation of the diffuse interface method for phase change simulations using OpenFOAM' The solver is working fine for Stefan's problem and 2-D film boiling but it not works for horizontal film and other condensation problem. During condensation the min. alpha value goes below zero and then time steps starts running in 10^-15 range. Can anyone help me in this problem.

I am not an expert in the field you are asking about, but have you tried to add a constraint in the system/fvConstraints file to set min. alpha = 0?
