how to calculate the intersection between ship hull and water surface?

Hi,
I am trying to obtain water plane of a ship which is made by the intersection points of water surface and hull. my first idea is to interpolate alpha.water values on the points of hull surfaces and somehow obtain iso line with level of 0.5. I thought about using isoSurface object but it looks heavy and cumbersome for just obtaining on boundary patches. I would like to know more simple way applicable to boundary patches. Any idea would be helpful. |
