Hello to all,
I am trying to use the method of manufactured solutions (MS) to verify rhoSimpleFoam. However, I am quite new to this methodology and would like to have some feedback from you guys. rhoSimpleFoam solves the compressible navier-stokes equation (steady-state): https://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/RhoSimpleFoam I am running a 2D case. I have manufactured a solution for u, v and density and am keeping the temperature constant at 393.15K. I am using the perfectGas Equation of State (EoS) and a constant viscosity model (mu = 1 Pa.s). The MS for density is inserted into the pressure equation through the fvOptions at line 63 of pEqn.H. The MS for the momentum equation is inserted through fvOptions at line 11 of UEqn.H My doubt is: Should I compute a pressure term from the EoS with the MS for density and use it in the computation of the source terms for the momentum equation? Can I keep the temperature as a constant or should also create a MS for Temperature? Would appreciate insight into this method. Kind regards |
