Hi
I have some questions:
1) How can I do a correct free surface simulation in open channels with interfoam solver? I mean, what are the correct boundary conditions for U and alpha (at inlet and outlet) in subcritical flow regime with downstream-control or supercritical flow regime with upstream-control? for which the correct profile nut and k can be obtained (I applied variableHeightFlowRate for alpha at outlet, fixedValue 1 for inletWater and fixedValue 0 for inletAir , similar fixedValue for inlet water and air velocity and outletPhaseMeanVelocity at outlet velocity, are they correct?).
2) Another question is why the total pressure difference from the dynamic pressure is not equal to the computational hydrostatic pressure? I applied href but only at one point, the correct answer is obtained.
3) In a prismatic channel, when the flow is fully developed and the velocity changes are zero, why are the dynamic pressure changes not zero?
4) In an open channel with expansive transition and subcritical regime, how to adjust Setfield or other things to have an increase in downstream depth?
5) Is there an example of solver pimpleFoam with gravity effect?
