Hello,

I am a masters student and was trying to implement a new janaf 20K model in a multi species transport solver developed by the phds, the model is working fine for a single specie but when multi species are involved it works incorrectly and shows no rise in temperature. Can someone point out any mistakes that I might be doing . I have just replaced the old janaf with the same name and have updates the libraries in specie, basic, reactionThermo, chemistryModel. I dont know if there has to be any changes in multi species and diffusivity, although I have updated everything in the Make folder there.

Hi, Razdan,

To the best of my knowledge, the official OpenFoam verisions have not incorporated the models to calculate the specie diffusivity and I am now making efforts to add such models.
Could you offer more details about the problems that you are faced with?

Hello gao,

The problem I am facing is that I am working in high temperature domain and want to solve for chemically reacting mixture with temperature going above 6000K, hence cant use the existing janaf model in Openfoam, I am trying to implement a new janaf model which can solve till 20000K, I am getting some results when I consider only 1 specie in my setup but for a realistic case lets say for earth with 6 different species, I am not getting results as required.

PS - Sorry for a late reply

Dear Razdan,

Sorry, I am not familiar with the new model you are going to implement. Maybe you should pay atttention to the species mixing rules, especially for the new paremeters you have added.

Dear Gaozw,
what do actually mean by "mixing rules"? Where do you find them in openFoam? I am particularly interested in this topic too.
