Hi all,
I am working on a (relatively) simple problem involving a slab thermal mass - here water - and the heat equation: ρC_p*∂T/∂t=-∇∙(k∇T)+(q_v ) In this case, the source term q_v is a solar load that is incident on a single patch (1 5 4 0), resulting in a change in the slab temperature. I would like to use laplacianFoam for this (to start), and then move to more complicated buoyant and multi-region solvers. I have played around with adding q_v as a source term to the laplacianFoam.c file, but with the coding required to properly track the diurnal variations in the solar load, I prefer instead to add solar radiation using the solarLoad solver (as part of the radiationModel package available in v1606+). As such, I need to add radiationModel.H to the laplacianFoam solver. This is where I get lost; I've tried to copy the radiationModel.H implementation in more complex solvers, but get lost in the details. Has anyone else tried to add radiation to laplacianFoam? Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

Attached image is the scenario that I am considering.
