Hi everyone,
I want to do the simulation of planar motion mechanism (PMM) test for an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) using OpenFOAM. I want to simulate the flow field around AUV which is fully submerged (single phase flow) using PMM procedure. I want to give the forced oscillations of yaw motion to the AUV for certain periods to create the sine wave motion using dynamic mesh in OpenFOAM. I searched for it and found Ship Design Analysis (SDA) using solid body motion. But it has only roll, heave and pitch motions. Thus, I want to know whether I can use this technique, by changing the coordinate system of the AUV to create yaw motion instead of roll. I am also not clear about whether I can use SDA for single phase flows. Or do I need to re-create another SDA that has the capability of doing yaw motion by myself? I am not good at OpenFOAM programming. Thanks in advance, Thaw Tar |
