hello,I am a junior student majored in Fluid Mechanics and I am a
beginner of OpenFOAM. Now I am going to study richtmyer meshkov instability on OpenFOAM.I think it would be easier for me to modify from the sample-"depthCharge2D" which using the solver "compressibleInterFoam". But I really can not figure out how to set a strong discontinuity of air pressure and temperature. Is there anyone who can teach me that? |

i never tested compressibleInterFOAM in supersonic flows but if you look at the formulation of the equations then you will see that it should be at most okayish in these kind of flows as it uses no Kurganov-Tadmore scheme or similar.
if you want to still use it put transonic yes in the pimple loop. But the solver should be pretty unstable. |

These days I figured out how to use funkysetfields and I modify the controlDict to make the sol output the result.I have not checked the result closely but through the paraFoam I can tell it looks similar to my experiment result(very not rigorous...but forgive me I am still learning that). BTW,I'd love to let the sol to output rho.So I make it MUST_WRITE in IOobject of rho. It works, except for the 0 dict. What to should I do to make it output rho at time 0 as well? I am really appreciate your warm-hearted help! Last edited by shangyan; October 20, 2015 at 12:39. |
