Hi all,
I'm new to OpenFOAM and I'm trying to set up a case study on building a 2m X 2m X 2m box, with some water flowing into the tank from the top part of the tank. The aim is to investigate the water level inside the tank over a period of time. May I know how should I set up this case study please. And is it possible to use icoFoam to solve this problem? Thank you very much. |

What you need is a simpler case of 1D or 2D where you will divide your volumetric charge by the area or dz for 1D or 2D respectively.
well, in case you are interested in the shape of the interface (water-air) then you should use interfoam solver. otherwise the use of openfoam is not justified. you can write the equation of conservation of mass inside the tank (no need for conservation of momentum or energy) and discretize it and solve it with matlab, excel or any simple math tool you have in your hand. |
