Hello everyone
I am studying how to simulate resin flow into fiber , but I can't get a good software to slove this ,I want use openfoam to slove this ,if anyone did this before,please help me ,how to realize control volume / finite element method by openfoam,thank you very much~~

Regards;

Hi Liaoning,

I'm just about to do so. I'm using OpenFoam's porousInterFoam solver, which is capable to simulate a transient flow of two liquids though a porous permeable medium.
Furthermore there is the ESI Pam-RTM software, which you could use to simulate the standard RTM process. It's quite user friendly, but not generic. What exactly are you trying to do?

Kind regards.

Thanks for your concern , But I have searched many times in google ,But I can't find the ESI Pam-RTM software download Link ,Could you tell me how to download the software ,thanks you very much ,and can we talk further about RTM process simulation and optimization, thanks you again~~~~

ESI Pam-RTM is not open source software, so you have to buy it rather than simply download it. I think that there are academic licenses for universities, but no students licenses available.

Oh, Thank you first ,I also heared that LIMS was able to simulate the process,and there many papers mentioned the software ,But I can;t get it , Do you know where can I get it ?I want to simulate voids and optimize gate location...,It will be more convenient for me to do it with LIMS Sys...

For LIMS:

http://www.ccm.udel.edu/Pubs/techbriefs/102.html

Though LIMS is also not freeware, it can be used if the problem size is smaller for limited time (Trail licence).

Good luck.

Hi there,

by chance, did anyone solve this problem using OpenFOAM?

Thanks a lot,

Samuele.
