Hello,
I am trying to debug an OpenFOAM solver. I am using gdb-7.6.1 on the commandline without any problems.

I would like to use the Eclipse debugger as mentioned here:
http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Ho..._and_debugging

Unfortunately the debugger freezes, when controlled through Eclipse. The Wiki says "Please be careful choosing the right gdb version! In gdb 7.x a bug seems to occur while debugging and monitoring the variables." (http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Ho...lipse#Versions)

Have you been successful when debugging OpenFOAM with Eclipse?
Is it possible to use an older gdb version (gdb-6.8 as recommended in the Wiki) next to a recent gcc installation?

Regards

Quick answer - There are at least 2 threads on this topic:

Have you read them?

Thank you. I hadn't read this one. I'll ask again in this thread.

This one is not (yet) about the gdb problems:

Sorry about that... I always associate problems with Eclipse to GDB
