I see that dieselEngine class is missing in openFom version 2.2 but it is present in OpenFoam2.1.

Why did the developers released openFoam 2.2 version without dieselEngine.

This is one of the reasons why I don't like people asking me stuff in private, when they can be asked in public (sorry about the rant). Someone made pretty much the same question to me the other day, so I'll copy-paste what I wrote to him:

I vaguely remember reading about some features of sprayFoam which didn't get into some of the latest OpenFOAM versions.

And I think "multiHoleInjector" is one of the things that hasn't found its way back into the latest version.

Now I remember... the "diesel" stuff got dropped as of 2.1.x:

• 2.0.x: https://github.com/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM...Spray/injector
• 2.1.x: https://github.com/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM...rc/lagrangian/

Let me see what else I can find and remember...

• OpenCFD has been trying to consolidate modelling strategies over each version, instead of having dedicated models for each specific detail. On the other hand, there probably hasn't been any latest contract requests for this kind of modelling.
• And this kind of modelling is now seems to be considered a feature request - http://www.openfoam.org/mantisbt/view.php?id=1000
• If you Google:

  You'll find that the reporter "dkxls" is trying to bring this kind of modelling back into OpenFOAM.

Therefore, the way I see it, you have a few possibilities:

1. You can go back to the last commit on 2.0.x where the diesel stuff was still working for some of the cases for which things were designed.
2. You can try porting this stuff from 2.0.x to 2.2.x.
3. You can try contacting Armin, aka "dkxls": http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/members/dkxls.html - and see if is there anything you two can help each other with on this topic!
