dear Foamers,
I'm going to develop a hybrid continuum/molecular solver for rarefied gas flow. For this solver, I need to split the mesh into continuum and molecular parts, based on e.g. Knudsen number, and apply the appropriate solver to each part. Is there the possibility to split the mesh and generate new meshes? I want it to be done in the code not manually.

look at chtMultiRegionFoam solver, it could be a good start point how to use appropriate solver for each part

Best Regards
