Hello,

I would like to use the rotatingWallVelocity BC with the interFoam solver to simulate a kind of centrifuge.

In */0/U I set for my rotatingWall patch

type rotatingWallVelocity;
origin (0 0 0);
axis (0 0 1);
omega 18;

The solver seems to run without problems but if I watch the results in Paraview, the rotating Wall has no effect to the fluid. But when plotting the velocity of the rotatingWall - patch everything seems to work. The connection between wall and fluid in not working.

So, what is my mistake??? Is there a missing entry? I am sorry if this is a stupid question......

greetings,

Henning

Hi,
can you specify more the type of your Geometry in your flow? and where exactly you apply the rotatingWallVelocity to which patch ?

Hello T.D. ,
thank you for your reply and please excuse my late answer!

Meanwhile I found my mistake and in deed it was a stupid one...
I had a mistake in the convertToMeters entry in my blockMeshDict. The boundary layer had a thickness of one meter instead of one Millimeter.

My geometry a rotating plate with a constant flow of oil on its top side.
