Dear Foam community,
Has anyone experience in prescribing a velocity field on an inlet, using a raw data file as input? What I want to do is use a cloud of points (x,y, value) as input for an inlet boundary condition. Is there an efficient way to do this? (patchToPatch interpolation? mapFields?). I saw some threads discussing 2d interpolation (x, value), but could not find too much on surface interpolation. Is there for example someone out there who coupled the 'nonuniform' boundary condition directly to a raw data file? Many thanks in advance for any advice, Bram |

Did you check out timeVaryingMappedFixedValue? Read a point cloud with assorted values and interpolates to the fixedValue. See the simpleFoam/pitzDailyExptInlet tutorial for an example.

Beste Mattijs,
Thanks for your reply. I had a quick look at the mentioned folder and I think I can derive my own solution from this. When time allows I'll update the forum on it. |
