Hello,
I am a beginner in openFOAM and have been using this forum for some time to learn how to model combustion processes. In my current project I have a three dimensional burner geometry with multiple air and fuel inlets (geometry has already been used for studies in Fluent). Consequently, the flame to be simulated is not premixed. I managed to choose the boundary conditions and initial conditions properly, so that the pure flow simulation via reactingFoam works well. However, my problem is the ignition of the air-fuel mixture. If I, analogous to the e.g. DLR-A Flame Tutorial, provide a high temperature volume via "setFields", which is activated after the development of the flow, no ignition occurs. Furthermore, it seems that in this case the entire simulation aborts. For alternative ignition options I have searched this forum. Some good approaches were suggested, which I could not implement successfully so far:
My used version is OF10 and the reaction mechanism is GRI3.0 (aud the DLR-A Flame Tutorial). Many thanks for your help in advance. Kind Regards |
