Hello everythone,
I meet a problems about cyclicAMI for it is required to have the same topology or geometry betwwen two meshes. But in reality, the interface of impeller is smaller than the face of volute as you can see the photos below. And then I turn to the SpaceClaim which is a 3D model designer, but it's still difficult to project the lines to the another face. At Here, I want to know whether it is a prefect way to solve this kind of interface matching problem. IMG of Impeller: IMG of Volute : I will appeciate it if you can give me a hand! BTW:in the attachment, thers are some files, including the four GEOs which I used. Memorise Best Wish Attachment: https://github.com/MemoriseXuxu/QA |

Hello
Try cyclicACMI (ACMI not AMI) - this is designed for partially-overlapping patches so should work here. It lets you specify a different patch type for non-overlapping faces. The other option would be to define the overlapping section and non-overlapping section of the internal surface of the volute as different patches - so use topoSet to make a faceSet from your inner volute patch, subset it with a boxToFace that only includes the bit that overlaps with the impeller, then create a new patch from that. |

Hello, sqek!
The first option is fascinated to me since it's a saving-effort solution. However,it may just available in the higher version. And the second option may take up some effort. But onece it's done,it is possible to write a script to fit in every geometry like that. And I wannna know whether I understand your meaings or not. All in all, thank you very much and glad you to have a nice day! Best Wishes! Memorise |
