Hello OF users,

I am fresh new to OF and try to run a case for impeller design.
Unfortunately, I run into this problem of setSet as follows:

setSet: undefined symbol: _ZN4Foam8fileName20allowSpaceInFileNameE

I am stuck for this that seem not many people encounter this before.

I use Openfoam-dev and spent much time on issue by issue. Frankly, it is not easy to use that I spent more than a month for installation and run and
example case and still cannot succeed.

Hope someone can kindly help!!
Thanks!
Patrick

The allowSpaceInFileName was added into OpenFOAM-v1906 (it really helps the windows users etc), but it sounds like you have mixed up your compilations with a different version of OpenFOAM.

Do you mean I installed the wrong version of OpenFoam? What should I do to fix this issue?

Which platform are you using, how did you install OpenFOAM? Depending on that, can give some more information. Otherwise take a look at the usual places:

A bit complicated and tediously clumsy:
I started by installing OF9(with wsl) according to the instruction of the official website:
https://openfoam.org/download/windows/
When I try to run a tutorial from Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwgnOdizuG8&t=1743s
I found I was stuck by launching decomposePar. It prompt that I did not install Scotch for parallel processors.

It seems OF9 doesn't include the Scotch. I later installed the Thirdparty based on this:https://openfoam.org/download/9-source/
but still got problem.(I can't remember the error msg.)

Then, I installed the OF-dev version. It gave me the title captured error message.

I later tried OF8 installation but still got problem.
