Hi All,

I'm running a floating objects simulation using interfoam as the solver.

I would like to find out the buoyant forces acting on the object.

on this page: https://www.openfoam.com/documentati...ncy-force.html

it says i can do that by using this:

buoyancy1
{
type buoyancyForce;
selectionMode all;
fields (U);
}

but it doesn't say which file i need to add this to.
If anyone can offer some help that would be great!

Kind regards

Hi Spacehorse

You need to add it to fvOptions.

Kind regards
Krapf

Hi Krapf,

thanks for the fast reply.

I don't have an fvOptions in the system folder, there is an fvSchemes and fvSolution. does this mean i should find an fvOptions folder from another case and copy that in?

Kind regards,
Sph

Yes, you can copy a fvOptions file from another case and modify it. IIRC you can place it in the system or the constant folder.
