hi everyone,
recently i have found that the initial wave date for the velocity generated by setWave are not consistent with the theoretical solutions. the tutorial case is the standard case which links to openfoam6/tutorials/multiphase/interFoam/laminar/wave. When I output the velocity profiles through vertically the location of L/4(L=wavelength). I found that there is a turning point at the area near the bottom boundary in the velocity profile of horizontal velocity component, which is shown in the image. In principle, this velocity profiles should be matching with the velocity profile of airy wave theory. However, it shows this turning point when we initialize the wave data. We can see there is a turning point on the vertical velocity component near the region of the bottom boundary. I have tested many cases, the turning point always exists. Does anyone know how to improve this? that would be very helpful. thanks |
