openfoam tutorials folder

Hi all,

I have installed OpenFOAM (correctly, I think) and am trying to download the flow around a cylinder tutorial, which is in the tutorials folder under basic, and potential flow directories. But, I am unable to do so. How do I access the tutorials folder? Alternatively, from the manual I tried downloading the PitzDaily tutorial, by doing

cd $FOAM_RUN

and then typing

cp -r $FOAM_TUTORIALS/incompressible/simpleFoam/pitzDaily .

as the manual says. However, the current error message is

cp: /incompressible/simpleFoam/pitzDaily: No such file or directory

How do I resolve this? By not allowing me to download these tutorials does it mean that I have not downloaded the tutorials folder? Do I need to run OpenFOAM? I am new to OpenFOAM and using the terminal and I have a Mac. Thanks for the help!

Hi Mrudhula,

It would help if you tell us what version of OF you installed in your Mac.

I have OF version 1812. I have figured out how to obtain the pitzdaily and cavity tutorials, however, I am unable to download the flow around a cylinder tutorial. Thank you!
