Hello everyone!
I'm working on my first case and it's main goal is to evaluate the heat load made by radiation. In the analysis, there are two surfaces with significantly different temperaures. The warmer surface should emit heat to the colder one by radiation phenomen. The whole system is placed in the vacuum so no convection occurs. Those surfaces are not connected anyhow so there is no conduction. For this purpose I decided to use chtMultiRegionFoam and viewFactors radiation model. The results I got is qr = 1.2*10^(-38) and viewFactorField with values way above 1, which are obviously wrong. Playing with values in viewFactorsDict made no difference. Now my suspicion is that the program doesn't work for radiation because there is no media in between the surface. Is this can be a reason? What are the others possible reasons? Have anyone tried to deal with radiation in vacuum? Cheers, Jessica |
