Hi all,

I am looking for a solution to a particular problem with multiple outflows, my project is blood vessels that split into multiple outflows. I have flow rates at inlets and outlets. If I directly apply these flowrates, the solution doesnt converge. I resolved this problem in ANSYS Fluent by using the outflow option for my outlet and assigning the outflow percentage from each outlet as is shown in this link:

http://www.afs.enea.it/project/neptunius/docs/fluent/html/ug/node247.htm (under boundary conditions

So, my question is: is there a boundary condition in openfoam5 that will let me split the mass flow? I have not had much luck finding it by going through the boundary condition source code.
Thanks for any help!

Hello nephina,

have you figured out if this is possible in OpenFOAM?

You can if you create different patches.
For each patch you can set the massFlow.

WARNING MassFlowRate in Inlet and Outlet is not so stable
