Blender: generate stl files

I use Salome to generate stl files for meshing, but when it comes to redefine them (e.g. separate a stl into more stl files), it's not so simple and generally you have to redefine all.
What I mean is that I would like to perform following steps, taking as example a 2D planar rectangular face:
How should I do this with Blender? Thanks a lot for any suggestion |
