Hello everyone,
First time poster here My usual OpenFOAM setup is OpenFOAM-4 where I have had success imposing motion on a body using both Laplacian and SBR dynamic mesh methods within the dynamicMeshDict and defining the patch motion within the 0/pointDisplacement file by specifying the bc type to be "solidBodyMotionDisplacement" and then the function to be "tabulated6DoFMotion". This then points to a .dat file defining the motion. So far so good however I have recently begun to investigate alternative mesh motion options and have read a great deal about RBF methods available within foam-extend. I am therefore now using foam-extend-3.2. My issue is that even ignoring the change of SBR-->RBF and sticking with SBR for now I cannot find a way to specify the body motion as the "solidBodyMotionDisplacement" option is no longer recognised as a valid bc type within foam-extend. I believe that tabulated6DoFMotion came out of what was previously referred to as "SKA" and this can be seen in the "foam-extend-3.2/tutorials/multiphase/interDyMFoam/ras/sloshingTank3D6DoF" case however this is using solidBodyMotionFvMesh within dynamicMeshDict whereas I require to use dynamicMotionSolverFvMesh hence my desire to specify this motion within the pointDisplacement file as I did with OF4. Am I overlooking something obvious or is this feature not possible within foam-extend? Thanks, Nick |
