"killed" advice with no error explanation

Hi everybody,
I have a problem with a heat exchanger I meshed with ansys. It's made of three parts: a central cylinder representing air, a surrounding alluminium layer and a CO2 layer surrounding alluminium. Unfortunately, when trying to separate these regions in openfoam with the command splitMeshRegions -cellZones -overwrite , the process gets killed but does not give any error advice to explain what the problem is. Thinking it could depend on the fact that the mesh was too fine, I tried to use a shorter (10 cm) and coarser version of this exchanger, and the process worked with no problems (the original exchanger is 2.64 m long). Still, I have to mesh the original exchanger and I haven't fully understood the problem. I'd really appreciate your help, I'll also attach what the terminal says pepito@debvbox:~/OpenFOAM/pepito-3.0.1/run/multiRegionHeaterRadiation$ splitMeshRegions -cellZones -overwrite /*---------------------------------------------------------------------------*\ | ========= | | | \\ / F ield | OpenFOAM: The Open Source CFD Toolbox | | \\ / O peration | Version: 3.0.1 | | \\ / A nd | Web: www.OpenFOAM.org | | \\/ M anipulation | | \*---------------------------------------------------------------------------*/ Build : 3.0.1-d8a290b55d28 Exec : splitMeshRegions -cellZones -overwrite Date : Sep 04 2016 Time : 11:27:17 Host : "debvbox" PID : 5366 Case : /home/pepito/OpenFOAM/pepito-3.0.1/run/multiRegionHeaterRadiation nProcs : 1 sigFpe : Enabling floating point exception trapping (FOAM_SIGFPE). fileModificationChecking : Monitoring run-time modified files using timeStampMaster allowSystemOperations : Allowing user-supplied system call operations // * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * // Create time Create mesh for time = 0 Creating single patch per inter-region interface. I have sorted this problem out.
When I export the mesh from ICEMCFD, I make sure that the two-sided walls are given the interface boundary condition. This makes sure that OpenFOAM is able to identify them as interface and creates the solid-fluid interface. |
