Hello All,
I am new to CFD and CFD simulations but have some prior experience in other simulation domains.

I am interested in simulation of the heated capillary duct from atmospheric pressure(1 bar) to vacuum(~3mbar) with choked flow. I am interested in flow velocity, temperature and pressures data inside the duct and in the small area in front of the duct. In the experiment I am trying to model I don't have any control of the pressures outside of the capillary i.e. it is exposed to the atmoshpere.
My questions are:
1) Which solver would be a good starting point (The flow inside the capillary should be turbulent with Re ~ 8000 and I am interested in steady case)?
2) Let's say I am interested in the flow characteristics in the box of 3mm in front of the capillary with 1mm inner diameter what would be a reasonable area in front of the capillary to be able to set bc properly knowing that I can't control the pressure there?
3) Given that I only know the applied power to the capillary how should I set the temperature bc at the wall of the capillary?
4) How should I set boundary conditions at the outlet(vacuum at 3mbar)?
I would appreciate any of your input,
Thanks,
Pavel

I am planning to use openFOAM for CFD simulation
