hi friends!
I'm modeling a very simple example of cylinder flow. the point is when i run the model by "icoFoam" (because the flow is laminar) i facing with this "FOAM FATAL IO ERROR":
Unknown patchField type symmetryplane for patch type genericPatch.
Valid patchField types are :
58
(
advective
buoyantPressure
calculated
codedFixedValue
codedMixed
cyclic
.
.
.
and so on !
what is the matter? i should say that my OpenFOAM version's is 2.2.1
all the best

Hi,

on the patch that you are using symmetryPlane you have to define both the initial condition and the boundary as symmetryPlane.
Can you show us the one of initial file and the boundary file (/constant/polyMesh/boundary)?
