Hi!
I am trying to place pressure probes on my cylinder to calculate the pressure on the surface during a transient 2D run. I have the locations of my nodes as well as face centers (as a written output from OF). I would ideally like to have the probes specified in controldict located in the face centers. However, when I try to run openfoam I get these errors. FOAM Warning : From function findElements::findElements(const fvMesh&) in file probes/probes.C at line 111 Did not find location (-6.946264978e-05 -5.347075807e-05 0) in any cell. The points (nodal) are offset from the surface. Since its a 2D case I have used a depth of 1 (but scaled down here) (-6.840740679e-05 -5.485494298e-05 0.0004295719152) To me the z offset of 0 would also indicate that the probe would be placed on the cylinder. I would be very grateful for any help! Thanks!! |

I just tried the same and if the probe was exactly on the face of the cell at the boundary I got the same error. I moved the probe just slightly inside the cell and it worked.
