Hello,

I'm new at this forum and a beginner with OpenFoam so I have some basic questions. I want to use OpenFoam to solve the following problem:
  • Helium is injected in an air filled vessel at ambient temperatures (T = 30 °C, p = 1.3 bar). The helium builds up a stable stratification in the upper part of the vessel.
  • This helium stratification is dissoluted afterwards with a hot steam jet (v = 3 m/s, T = 140 °C). In my first setup I want to neglect condensation processes.
Please can you help me to answer my questions:
  • What is the best OpenFoam-solver for my problem (light gas cloud, bouyancy driven, multiphase, non-isothermal,...)?
  • Is there a suitable OpenFoam-solver for this problem or do I have to make modifications?
Regards,
J.
