I have been working with a hull in Open foam. Iam using LTSInterfoam for the simulation.I was able to mesh the hull using snappyhexmesh. and was able to simulate the flow.
But when i looked at the result it seems wierd. The free surface comes above the hull. the ship virtually sinks in the sea. I have used similar settings as given in the wigley hull tutorial. My speed is 15 knots (7.716 m/s). I have attached the results here: 1) the starting stage. red portion water. blue portion air 2) After 100 iterations. 3) after 12000 iterations. Now i have completed more than 50000 iterations. still the free surface is above the hull. Could anyone help me out with this. what could be the possible reasons??? Iam using openFoam 2.10 |
