Hey Foamers,
I want to simulate a rotating fan with the cyclicAMI-boundary. To reduce the effort of calculation I only want to simulate the behavoiur of the fan by using one blade, which runs cyclic through a halfed cylinder-volume. It already worked with a complete cylinder. The simplified geometry is shown in the pic below. When the solver runs a while, the following problem appears: AMI: Creating addressing and weights between 2596 source faces and 2596 target faces AMI: 33 non-overlap faces identified AMI: Patch source weights min/max/average = 0, 1.00075, 0.981667 AMI: Patch target weights min/max/average = 0, 1.00075, 0.980402 The explanation of this problem: The rotating AMI rotates away from AMI which stays at its position and some faces loose their overlapping. My question: Is it possible with OpenFoam to project the cells of the CyclicAmi boundary, which are loosing their overlapping, to the other side of the AMI during the rotation? It would be great if somebody has got a solution for this problem! Regards Olli |
