Hello.
I am attempting to mesh a 5 deg wedge of a cylinder in ICEM CFD and convert it to OpenFOAM format using fluent3DMeshToFoam. When I do this and adjust the appropriate boundary conditions and run checkMesh I get the following during the geometry check: Checking geometry... Overall domain bounding box (-20 -2.44696e-15 -0.177269) (0 4.064 0.177269) Mesh (non-empty, non-wedge) directions (1 1 0) Mesh (non-empty) directions (1 1 1) Wedge FRONT with angle 2.5 degrees ***Cannot find opposite wedge for wedge FRONT Boundary openness (4.62186e-18 -1.66095e-16 -2.69112e-14) OK. Max cell openness = 3.09836e-16 OK. Max aspect ratio = 6.69061 OK. Minumum face area = 5.62568e-06. Maximum face area = 1.28406. Face area magnitudes OK. Min volume = 1.07578e-08. Max volume = 0.0697424. Total volume = 13.247. Cell volumes OK. Mesh non-orthogonality Max: 79.5003 average: 16.8294 *Number of severely non-orthogonal faces: 30. Non-orthogonality check OK. <<Writing 30 non-orthogonal faces to set nonOrthoFaces Face pyramids OK. Max skewness = 1.47 OK. Coupled point location match (average 0) OK. Failed 1 mesh checks. I am unable to resolve this issue. Thank you in advanced for any assistance you may be able to provide. I look forward to contributing to this forum. I am happy to provide additional details if necessary. |

I had the same error message and then I put front in one patch and back in another. that whas my problem.
Don't you have a back patch? symmetric to your FRONT? |

The problem was that I had some asymmetric cells. Thank you for the responses!

I am also having same error . what kind of asymmetrical patches did u have ? & how do U recognise them. I have also tried for check mesh . It shows :
***Cannot find opposite wedge for wedge front mesh failed . please guide me I am new to OF |

I had the same error, I solved it by making the thickness of the mesh to be one cell only between the two Wedges, this according to the guide
