Hi all,
i'm looking for the proper way in order to assign spatially non-uniform boundary condition at the inflow side. For example, a parabolic velocity profile varying along z (vertical) axis. The condition is steady in time. Can anyone give me a suggestion about what is the best type of BCs to choose in order to do it? Thanks all for the support. Regards, Andrea |

Hi Andrea,
In that case, I would suggest that you start by looking at swak4Foam, where you can specify e.g. algebraic expressions: http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Contrib/swak4Foam . If you search for swak4Foam on the forum, you will find many threads describing its usage. Kind regards, Niels |

Hi Niels,
thank you for your reply. In fact, I'm taking a look to skaw4foam...but it's not clear to me if is possible to assign non uniform condition by points (and then the solver interpolates the velocity profile in the missing points) or just by algebrical expressions. Can you answer to this question? Thanks you so much for your support. Regards, Andrea |

Hi Andrea,
No, I have never used swak4Foam. Good luck, Niels |

I think groovyBC is quite a good tool for this purpose (http://openfoamwiki.net/index.php/Contrib_groovyBC). I used that before and it works well.
