Dear Foamers,
Using foamToTecplot360, all time steps data converts to plt files. but after opening tecplot software and reading plt files an error says which grid should be import first. by importing boundrymesh files first also the error is same as before.
How can i use Tecplot360 for reading OpenFOAM data?

Hi,

I am also running into the same problem, anyone who knows what are the steps to follow to read these .plt files and see the results using Tecplot360.

Thanks

Hi maysam,

Initially I too faced the same problem, but I found what was the mistake. When you used foamToTecplot360 u will see that there are *.plt files for each time and then there is also a *_grid.plt.

So when you use Tecplot360, go to load data files and then click multiple files, first select the *_grid.plt and click on add file after this select the *.plt file which u want to plot.

It worked well for me, hope it will work for u also

hi everyone:
after I converted the result data to tecplot. the directory name is specified Tecplot360.In Tecplot360,there are some files

1 *_grid.plt, only one file (it need be load in tecplot360 firstly)
2 *.plt file as the results for each time step(add these file after the grid file)
3 and in boundarymash directory ,there are some mesh files for each time step. (how about this part?)

For the third part-mesh data- is not useful? Dose anybody konw this?
