Hello all,
I am new to openFoam, and I am trying to solve the ship moving with free surface problem using InterFoam (with OpenFoam 1.5). In order to compute the drag the force function (which for some reason I haven't been able to make work anyway-any examples available?) will compute the whole pressures around the hull, rather than only the pressures on the submerged portion. I was thinking of a simple approach of computing the Forces by integrating this expression: pressure*gamma*facearea*facenormal However, in Paraview I haven't been able to do this. Am I missing something? Otherwise, can it be done easily with a script after the computing is finished? I will appreciate any help and welcome any other simple approach to the problem. Regards, Francisco |

Yes, that was what I was trying to do, however, I found no way to acces the face normal in ParaView. Is it possible?
