Hello everybody,
I have generated a three dimensional mesh using blockMesh. I generated the mesh on the cluster and then when i bring the files to my machine and tried to visualize using ParaFoam it tries to load the mesh and then crashes giving the following error on the console. new cannot satisfy memory request. This does not necessarily mean you have run out of virtual memory. It could be due to a stack violation caused by e.g. bad use of pointers or an out of date shared library Aborted Does this mean that my RAM is not sufficient to load and visualize the mesh, I am having 2GB ram on my laptop. Could anyone advice me on this error mesagge because if it is a RAM problem then i have to go for increasing the RAM. The mesh consists of 4,560,000 cells. bye with regards K.Suresh kumar |

I guess this topic is more related to openfoam pre-processsing.
I'm also getting the same error, when I try to go up to 4 million cells. Clearly this is a problem with memory insufficiency. As I can not use blockmesh in parallel, i don't know how to overcome this problem. Or are there ways to use blockmesh in parallel? Last edited by misakagan; January 21, 2010 at 10:26. |
