Hi Guys,
I am starting to use openFoam, and as a test I am studing the flow in a sudden expansion, in 2D. To the post-processing, I use the foamToTecplot to convert the results and to treat them in Tecplot. I can convert the data, represent the results using contours. But, when I try to create some stream lines, I got the error "Data is FE Brick or Tetrahedron. It is best to use 3D". I can do some stream lines in 3D, but it is awkward. Thanks, António Martins |

Data>Extract>slice from plane
Although 2D, openfoam extrudes it in z. so slice a plane at constant z. Go to zone style and activate the newly formed slice and deactivate the original 3d. view the result as 2D cartesian. |

Thanks for that info. In the case of a transient solution you need to select 'extract slices over time' - which will give you the same option for each time-step.
