Hi there,
I'm running a multi region case with the chtMultiRegionFoam solver and want to know the wallHeatFlux for different y+ values after the simulation. But running the postProcess function wallHeatFlux gives me strange results .. avg. y+ = 4 --> mean wallHeatFlux = 646 kW/m2 avg. y+ = 0.5 --> mean wallHeatFlux = 2.180 kW/m2 avg. y+ = 0.1 --> mean wallHeatFlux = 4.836 kW/m2 avg. y+ = 0.02 --> mean wallHeatFlux = 9.389 kW/m2 I get that the near wall temperature depends on y+, which is why the heat transfer coefficient based on wall temperature varies, too. but shouldn't the wall heat flux be in around the same bounds? What am I doing wrong here? Besides, in the solid region I've got a constant heat source with 1.340 kW/mē, so the values are just highly unrealistic. The resulting average tempertures in the solid make much more sense, varying from 348 K to 344 K. So, how do I get the real wallHeatFlux? Thanks for any help! |
