Merge time folder for pimpleFoam case run in two separate PCs

Hi folks,
I find myself in a bit of a pickle and failed to find an answer in the forum. I have a pimpleFoam case which I partly run in to different machines. Let's say, for time 0:5 seconds I run it parallel in a 2 core laptop with 0F 4.1. Since this was taking a considerable amount of time I copied the last time folder and decomposed it to an 8 core machine running OF2.X (I cannot recall the exact version at the time) and run it until 10 seconds. Probably not a smart move... Now for the issue: After reconstructing the times for both machines and copying the time folders to just one case I get an issue when post-processing in Paraview. If I use the "constant" folder for the first case (0 to 5 seconds) the data for the remaining time folders is non-sense (probably mesh issues) and vice versa. I know I can post-process the cases separately but I would prefer to join all time folders to create an animation. Also, I think I've done something similar in the past but cannot remember how I got around it... As anyone experienced something like this or has any ideas? Best. Ruonin |
