Dear foamers,
Maybe my query might sound obvious, but afrer many attempts I could not resolve the following: Let's say you are simulating a cylinder-like fluid flow systems. You have periodic inlet flow velocity BC and you wish to time average at certain times. To be more specific let say that inlet velocity is: V(t)=Asin(2pi.freq.time). Now I wish to time average at times where: 1. V(t) = 0 at upstroke 2. V(t) = 0 at down-stroke 2. V(t) = A 4. V(t) = -A Assume that V(t) = 0 at upstroke at t=0, 1, 2, .... etc ... V(t) = 0 at downtroke at t=0.5, 1.5, 2.5, .. etc .. V(T) = A at t= 0.25, 1.25, 2.25, etc V(T) = -A at t = 0.75, 1.75, 2.75, etc. using the fieldAverage utility. I would like time average a times: 1. t=0,1,2,3,4, etc.. 2. t= 0.5,1.5,2.5, etc. 3. t= 0.25,1.25,2.25, etc. and 4. t= 0.75, 1.75, 2.75 etc.. This means I need to setup fieldAverage utility in controlDict four times to achieve the aforementioned, however I am completely lost in translation ! Your help is greatly appreciated. Cheers Z. |
