Dear foamers,

I have been running a case using rhoCentralFoam and I figured out a difference between results of wallHeatFlux utility wrt utility versions. I studied only one output files of my solution which is run by OpenFOAM v. 2.2.1. Then I ran wallHeatFlux utility for different versions of OpenFOAM like 2.2.0,2.3.1 and 3.0.1.

I am adding average heat flux figures below. I think the correct line is the same utility version of running OpenFOAM version, i.e. green line. After this point, I think the utility version should be necessarily used the same running version. Am I right?

Do you have any idea about the problem?

Operating system: Ubuntu 14.04
Running utility versions: OpenFOAM 2.2.0, 2.2.1, 2.3.1, 3.0.1, 4.0.
Running version: OpenFOAM 2.2.1

Thanks,

Quick answer: I'm probably a bit late, but my guess is that this has to do with the boundary condition "turbulentHeatFluxTemperature". See this bug report for more details: https://bugs.openfoam.org/view.php?id=1433

Then again, it looks like you're using a compressible solver, so maybe this no longer applies. More details are needed about the case set-up, in order to reproduce the same results and further diagnose the problem. Preferably using one of OpenFOAM's tutorial cases would make it easier to diagnose.
